Extension of Tender Closing Dates Featured

Section 217 of the Constitution requires that when an organ of state contracts for goods and services, it must do so in accordance with principles of fairness, transparency, competitiveness, and cost-effectiveness.

Following National Treasury’s Cautionary Notice: Advertising, Publishing, and Closing of bids over the festive season which was published in December 2023 which informs that during the festive season which generally commences on 15 December 2023 until 9 January 2024, many industries, suppliers and service providers are closed and therefore unable to respond to bid opportunities advertised during this period and therefore advises the extension of such bids to provide sufficient time for prospective bidders to respond to such bids as well as the municipal website that had been down from 11-14 December 2023, Emalahleni Local Municipality has reviewed the situation and the possible impact on all stakeholders involved in the tender process.
