PUBLIC NOTICE -::- ILLEGAL SOLICITATION OF BUSINESS TRADING LICENSING FEES BY IMPOSTERS AND A REMINDER FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT APPLIED OR RENEWED

It has come to the attention of the Municipality that some members of our communities are impersonating the officials of the municipality and going to local shops owned by foreign nationals requiring business trading licenses and if not found illegally soliciting fees from them.

Please take note that the Municipality is the only authority, with the mandate for the control of business trading within the jurisdiction of the Emalahleni Local Municipality, having also the powers to provide, in conjunction with any other applicable laws, an effective legal and administrative framework, within which to manage and regulate business trading.

Community members are advised that for the application of business trade license they should come to the Municipality and visit the Department of Environmental and waste management on the third floor of the Municipal Offices.

The Municipality team will be visiting all business establishments from January 2024 to February 2024 to ascertain compliance with the business trading control by-law, 2023. The Municipality official will be wearing uniform and having their appointment cards for ease of identification.
