VIRTUAL DIALOGUE ON GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE AND FEMICIDE

Under the theme “Improving access to justice for the victims and survivors of GBV and Femicide” The Executive  Mayor Cllr, Linah Malatjie will virtually address issues relating to combating GBVF.

The dialogue will be the first and followed by a series of events in October and November respectively. The aim and intention of the programme is to fight the scourge of GBVF.
 
The Executive Mayor, Cllr  Linah Malatjie, will lead a panel of officials from the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development and representatives from the National Prosecution Authority (NPA), South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID).

The engagement seeks to
  1. Enhance government’s response to GBVF,
  2. Address concerns,
  3. Take suggestions and
  4. Engage stakeholders from various organized formations within the society, including activists and interested citizens.
